How hard is it to take the old motor off and switch it with a higher HP motor? I'm assuming that would mean I have to change out controls also? Never done this before. A little worried about trying to do it.

If you stick to the same brand engine you won't have to change out controls

It isn't expectantly hard, if its a different brand of motor you will need to switch the controllers to, but its all plug and play If its the same brand it can depend on the age some of the newer ones arnt comparable with older ones.. In my case I buy the motor and matching controller. If not you can run into plugs and cable ends that don't match, all ways check.

At one time Honda and Merc could use each others shift box
