Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't realize that the binnacle would mount with that console, that's why I disregarded it. I forgot about greatlakesskipper too.

anyone have any thoughts on how hard it would be to either paint the wood grain dash panel or put an adhesive vinyl over it? I'm not a big fan of the wood grain. Looks like there's a decent amount of contour on the dash panel so a vinyl wrap may be a bit difficult.

Thoughts?

Its just an overlay. Pretty sure you can take it all the way off. When I cut my gauge holes it was a seperate layer.

Ty should be able to tell you for sure.

Depends if you want the switches built in, if not then just go with the cheaper one with no switches or wood grain. I will tell you the built-in switches make it easy. But then again I used the PS wiring harness so it was just plug and go. Yours will probably be different plugs.

The panel is a vacuum formed ABS piece, so it should take prep/paint as well as plastic can. A wrap would be difficuld because of the rounded edges/switch locations. If you have a material in mind that you want to use, perhaps it may be better to make your own panel, and use the standard 5 switch panel and mount it below? Either way you have a few options.

Thanks for the info in regards to the dash panel. I may just be content with it for now until the get the boat running, then look at modifying the "bonus feature" stuff.

Some other good news is I just got my nav lights, docking lights and horn ordered today. Hopefully I'll have it around the beginning of the year. Small progress, but still progress. :nana

Made it out this last weekend to start mounting some of the fence railing. I got the side holes drilled and the fence mounted, but I'm going to wait on the corner section hole drilling until we get some furniture in it to help firm up the layout. Right now, I can have the fence attached, but still slide it forward and backward to adjust where at on the deck I want the playpen.
Here's the only pic I have of drilling the holes. switched to my corded drill after about 2 holes. Much quicker than a battery powered drill.

It is rather exciting to see the parts that have been on an excel spreadsheet start showing up :biggrin2

Hoping to order the console and "phase 1" furniture in the next few weeks :nana

Decided to wait until I get corner pieces of furniture to mount the curved portion of the fencing down.

Congrats and looking good. I don't get on here very often but was reading your post and just have to put my $.02 in. Have you considered using fence risers? Definatly on my to do list when I re-carpet.

I do have fence risers, however, the bolts I have are not long enough to use with them :(

The bolts are a type that slide into the bottom of the track of the fencing, so it's not just a normal bolt. Otherwise I would. The bottom of the fencing is a little bit off of the floor though as the fencing bottom has some spots that lift it up a tad. The other nice thing is that the fending is installed on the rub rail and not the actual carpet itself

got some more stuff done today. I had a friends help so took advantage of having some extra muscle to get the front rub rail installed.
Also got the doors riveted on, corner caps installed, bimini frame assembled, and the floor layout taped

tucking carpet under rub rail (my buddy, not me)

bimini frame up. There were already holes in the fence rail from a previous bimini top. I'm really hopin that I can just use these and not have to drill new holes. Couldn't put the top all the way up though due to truss clearances.

Tape layouts. I thought the bench bases an such were only 17" from the railing as far as floor mounting, They're actually 21" out with a 27" total jut out. That's what the bench areas look so narrow. I didn't feel like retaping for proper width.
