What helm have you decided on? Or is that not decided yet?

95% sure we've decided on the RTM 41" stand from pontoonspecialists.com
http://www.pontoonspecialists.com/p-313 ... nsole.aspx

While it is big, we like a lot of the features on it and it seems like it will look more "built for" as opposed to an "add on" as some of the others. Having the bigger console is going to make me eliminate the lounge back behind the captain chair, but that's not too big of a concern. It'll save me some $ anyway. A front cupholder may have had an impact on the decision :beerthought :drink

Also - I know you mentioned not liking the wood grain in those panels for the PS console. You should look into hydrographics. On a piece that small it would be pretty inexpensive and you can choose from hundreds of designs (carbon fiber, metals, camo, wood grain, dollar bills, skulls) I have re-done most of the interior plastic pieces in several of my cars using this method and it holds up great. Not sure where you are located but I have used Liquid Imaging here in Elkhart, IN and Rev Dynamics in Plymouth, IN both with great success.

The bolts are a type that slide into the bottom of the track of the fencing, so it's not just a normal bolt. Otherwise I would. The bottom of the fencing is a little bit off of the floor though as the fencing bottom has some spots that lift it up a tad. The other nice thing is that the fending is installed on the rub rail and not the actual carpet itself

Hold up here...those bolts should be 2" long, plenty long for risers. I've installed the PontoonStuff 3/8" riser with no problem. Can you double check the bolt length?

Sure thing. I'll check when I get back out to the barn in the next week or so. Right now we have 5" of snow and it's too cold :scared

Maybe with it being such a thick carpet? That stuff is thick.

I will say, I at first started with trying to bolt through the cross members as well, so I'm adding some thickness to those sections. I think even without that though, it seems to be a bit short.

For those of you who have experience with new furniture. Based on the pictures that i've found, the gas cap should be above the 11" high aluminum fence rail piece. I don't believe the gas cap would fit below that without potentially causing issues. Based on the dimensions of the corner seat, I may have to cut into the back of the seat since the base is 12" high and the fuel fill will be about 12 or 13". Can anyone confirm that this is the standard procedure for this? I saw the one build where Ty ran his fuel fill into the lounge back, but the fuel line comes up right into the corner seat, so I'd rather not have to run a fuel fill hose through a lounge back, bench seat and corner bench. I was hoping to just be able to cut into the base, without getting to the back rest part, but I don't think that will be the case.

Pic 1 shows my layout. You can see the fuel lines coming up from underneath the deck

Pic 2 shows the exterior of the same model fencing that I have and where the gas cap is (not mine, pulled from the net)

Pic 3 shows that the gas cap would be above the 11" piece of fencing (12 or 13" probably)

It's hard to say how it will work out until you have the seat sitting there, there isn't anything wrong with running a gas line through there or notching out the base, it's just whatever it takes to make it work.. Might also try backtoboating.com for a good selection on gas caps... Ezacdc.com is another good part site just FYI :coffee

On mine I used this unit: Perko, Combination Gas Fill & Tank Vent and lift a hatch to access and fill. On yours you may rig it up where you lift a cushion to fuel. You would still need to vent the seats in the back but that should be inconspicuous and easily done. A small spill bucket would also be a nice additional feature should you decide to go this direction.

You're going to be tied more to what fill you use and where it will fit on the fence. Look at this build I did, the fill goes in to the DeckMate base which is 12" high. It makes a 90 deg. turn and angles down to the tank. It fills fine, by can or pump. I get my fuel fills from BackToBoating.

Got some goodies from the the local South Bay dealer. I ordered through them since the cutouts were already done on the fencing. I wanted to get the OEM lights that were used. don't mind the dog

$750.

Once I started adding the value of everything on it, I feel it was a decent value.
helm: $300 value
gauges: $200 value
switches: $120 value
Tilt helm setup: $200 value
Steering wheel: $60 value

Also, that fact that it matches the setup that I want dimensionally is the main reason we were wanting it. Wired gauges is always nice too :biggrin2
