I spent the next few days getting everything ready to go so I could use the boat. I also made the appointment with Texas parks and wildlife to get the boat inspected and titled. It was a piece of cake, getting the boat inspected. I just showed up for my appointment, went inside and filled out all the title paperwork, showed a few build receipts, and walked through the boat with the game warden. It took maybe an hour for the whole ordeal. FINALLY!!!!! I had a legal boat that I could use! I hit the water as soon as I could. The boat ran 32mph with the 150. We used it like this for a month or so, got a lot of crazy looks on the water and even a few ppl that yelled at me about how stupid my boat looked. If they only knew how long I’d been working on it and that I was saving up for a custom wrap

And then, finally it happened! I had the money saved and the design approved. I wanted for my appointment and dropped the boat off at the wrap shop. I ended up getting it back two days later, and I absolutely fell in love. I’ll let the pics do the talking.

So after getting it back from the wrap shop, I buttoned up a few small wiring jobs and we used it every chance we got. It ran 32mph with the 150. I ended up flipping a few other project toons I had and sold some parts and was able to buy a 4”HD jack plate, sea star hydraulic steering, and a junker bass boat that had a nice 200 XRI on it. I sold the bass boat and trailer and tuned the 200 up so I could use it on my toon. It ran 38 mph with the 200.

Love it, great job... :alright :alright ...what kind of assholes you got down in TX that would disrespect others having fun with friends and family?

How many toons you flip a year? Hell I was going to do a couple, but used toons are $$$$ here

Ya kinda rubbed me the wrong way. It’s a good thing for them, that I had my parents and their church friends on the boat or there would’ve been a different turnout.

I’ve lost count on the boats honestly. Over the last few years it’s over a 100. Here lately (depending on conditions of the boat) I strip them down to the tubes and sell parts. It’s been pretty cool and fun, I regularly have ppl call or message me asking for pontoon parts. I’m working on a dealers license now, so I can buy auction boats

So after I I got the 200, jack plate and hydraulic steering installed I did a few test runs to make sure everything was ok. Then it was a mad dash to get everything on the boat for a trip to destin Florida. We also installed one of the two power arm Bimini tops. The second one wasn’t in yet. The boat trailered great and ran awesome in Florida. Destin will be a trip we take every year now. We loved it!

While we were in Destin, I noticed I lost a few cup holders on the ride there, so we stopped by the bass pro in town. I can’t go to Bass Pro and not look at my dream engine hanging in the boat section. I seen the 300 verado was marked WAY down compared to what I’d been seeing. I started talking to one of the salesman there and he really lit a fire under me. I called the wife over :prayer and ran it buy her, and believe it or not, she said DO IT :nana :nana :nana so we went in the office and found out that they couldn’t ship it to Houston and they didn’t even have any in stock. Well CRAP! I stayed on the phone with every bass pro and every mercury dealer in the Houston area the rest of the trip. Finally found a 350 verado (what I really wanted) in Tennessee at jayco marine for less than the 300 at bass pro and they would ship to Texas :thumbsup so I found me a verado certified dealer and set it up. It took about two months to get it in and wait at the mechanic shop to get it installed but I finally got it. It’s a 2019 Verado 350 25” running a mirage plus 15-1/2x17p prop. Best speed to date was 49.8 measured by my garmin GPS, 2 adults, 10gallins of fuel and a light load. I can run 43 mph all day with 7+ adults and that’s what impressed me. Love it so far, we’ve made some long runs across the bays down here in Texas (78miles) and it just purrs along like nothing.

Wow your boat looks great! I can't imagine having a 350 lol. I had the pleasure of using a 27' Tahoe with a 300 verado while my boat wasn't ready. That boat was insane from the hole shot right up to 50mph.

You've done a heck of a job building that boat and should be very proud. I love the wrap job it looks great as well. I know you're probably not done yet always something to make better/change. Keep us posted !!!

i didn’t like how the tops of the rails looked with the skinning up to the top, plus it was kinda sharp in places from having the skinning sheared to size. I got some aluminum angle and used it to trim the entire top of the rails. I had it powder coated and used wide head colored rivets to mount it. We also did a little fab work for the bimini actuators. I wanted a little extra height over the console. Also added 4 sets of EZ fenders.
