New Build - Looks like a submarine . . . from a distance

#1 Post by .060 Over » Wed Jun 04, 2014 1:51 pm

Somewhere on the internet I have seen a pontoon boat with a conning tower structure so that from a distance it looked like a submarine. Any ideas where to look for photographs or drawings or any other thoughts. We boat mostly at Lake Anna Virginia and a little on the Potomac and a little in the Annapolis area. My thought is the longer the better just for scale/proportions; a longer boat would look more like a submarine that something stubby. We have found a couple salvageable (?) houseboats in the 30 to 36 foot range but the hulls were basically junk, probably too much beam and would require too much work. I haven't really started looking for new pontoons yet, but any guidance on where to look in my general area would be appreciated. I am open to any suggestions.
