I recently relaced all of my furniture in a new-to-me Playcraft pontoon. The seats where no problem, but the console scares me!. The console is a blank canvas with no holes precut. I currently on have the steering, switch panel, stereo, water pressure gauge, and a tach in my console and planning on moving the old stuff to the new one. The new console is a Toonmate Deluxe Captains Stand, nothing fancy but looks a lot better than the old one. I would love any advice or pictures if anyone has used the same type of console.
Thanks

Re: Toonmate Console
Do a lay out before you start cutting, take a piece of cardboard the size of the console and then make cardboard cut outs of real size gauges and radio and what ever else you plan on adding then lay them out on the console cardboard then you can shuffle them around and make a plan. once you have a layout that suits you then mark the out line in the main piece and cut that out and lay it out on the console and your ready to start cutting., A fyi leave at least 1/4 of a inch smaller on the vinyl for shrinkage you will get a very nice fit that way when you install. I made my own console awhile and this is how it came out.

Re: Toonmate Console
Finally got the new console finished up. My steering cable broke right before winter came so I figured it was time to jump into the console as well! It turned out pretty good with some help from my Dad, also cleaned up the electrical wiring that was under the old console, there was a lot of spare wire under there that didn't go to anything! I ended up mounting the stereo to high so I couldn't use the cup holder that went above it. I rigged up a mount for my depth finder and stuck it up there to cover the hole.

Re: Toonmate Console
Alcohol was not consumed until it was done, haha! We ended up cutting the holes from the inside and then cut the vinyl after the plastic was cut. It was definitely a learning experience! Putting the radio on the side was the bet option after I figured out where everything else was going. It made it a lot easier to get to!
