engine pod
I have a kayot 20 foot toon with a 650 merc o,b it set,s low in the water runs great planes out real nice but the problem is the back sets real low is there a way to get it to float higher in the water without spending a mint on it
Re: engine pod
650 merc o,b
They make a 650 merc????????? no wonder it sits low in the water!
I was told by a guy that builds pontoon boats that a pod will lift the behind up but will not help speed. It may actually slow you down due to more drag in the water. A center toon is the answer.
As for spending a mint!................ The definition of a boat is "a hole in the water surrounded by Steel, aluminum , wood, or fiberglass into which one pours money.

Re: engine pod
You've probably got 19" toons, and there's nothing you can do to get the rear higher in the water. Sorry.
That's an inherent problem with some boats.

Re: engine pod
There is a lot you can do to help this. I know on mine just getting rid of the old wood water soaked seat base help a lot. and try and move a little of the weight forward that you have stored in them. I found some pontoon seats on craigslist with the plastic base's cheapest thing and fastest thing if your not wanting to do a lot is a jack plate on your motor to raise it up. I guess you have it already bolted in the high hole's. and last but not least find a used pontoon log and mount it in front of your motor pod. I know years ago Tracker marine made a mini log it was 8 to 10' long to help this very problem,
