Deck Question...

I have been going over costs before getting into a rebuild.

How do you know whether or not you HAVE to replace the decking instead of putting Restore 10X on it or something like that on it?

Thanks!

If it still solid with no soft spots you can leave it, mine was 22 years old and in good shape, but since we wanted a brand new boat we replaced the floor instead of patching the holes in the deck from old seats, since we were going from a fish n fun model to a sun in fun, we used the old flooring to make the sundeck, we used some on a few projects, so our flooring lives on.

The cost of the flooring is very small when you consider how long it lasts and the work to replace it later.

When I started my project, just a pair of tubes with the original deck I could have just patched it. Instead I bit the bullet and went with new marine plywood with marine vinyl covering. Now , I have a deck that will last as long as I will with no worries.

Unless the deck is exceptionally sound I'd just replace it while you're there,,, then it is a non-issue for as long as you have the boat or a plus when you got to sell it,,,, but really only you can make that call when you see it
