Back at it...27' Tri Toon Build

#1 Post by ToonGuy » Wed Jan 28, 2015 9:14 am

Well...I can't stand letting Ryan (Mrtoler) have all the fun, so I'm digging this thing out and getting started on it. This build will be a bit slow, as I have a few other major things going on right now. But that's OK, Most of the hard work is already done :nana

Here she is when I brought her home last spring, all 27' and a (few inches) of her. It's the standard South Bay set up, full center tube with 51 gal fuel cell, 25" tubes with 4 strakes, and rated for 300HP. The flooring is the grey teak, I absolutely love it. I've been rounding up parts for her for almost a year, but as always there will be a few glitches along the way I'm sure.

I got to thinking about it and I've had this thing under wraps since before you bought yours. I had actually planned on building this one last year, but the Twin took so long I got burned out. I'm in no major hurry, I have a pretty big project in the house right now so I'll be splitting my time between the two, and life in general. I'd like to have it on water by June, so if I decide to sell it I won't miss the season. We'll see...

I will be powering the beast with a 2 stroke, fuel injected 200HP Suzuki I picked up a while back. I'm anxious to get it mounted and rigged, it's been sitting on a stand for what seems like an eternity. But like I said it's going to be a bit till I get to that point.

I did get my fence all laid out, but shame on me no pics yet. We've been getting dumped on with snow storms and between plowing, shoveling, snow blowing, and fixing the plow truck I'm swamped!

You said you want to have this boat in the water by June, you better hurry! Only got a couple more months.

Haven't posted in awhile anything new to this build or are you like me and taking your time?

I wish I could say I'm just taking my time...but the fact is life just keeps getting in the way. I had a home improvement project I thought would take a couple weekends at the most take over almost 6 weeks to complete. So now I'm catching up on all the stuff I put off while doing that, and trying to keep my parents and niece's cars on the road, etc etc etc. I haven't even touched it since I set the fence on. I had planned an entire Saturday last weekend and then a friend called from out of town and needed some help so off I went, never did touch the boat. Not looking good for the next 2 weekends either...
