New seats

I am going to start replacing the seats on my pontoon one by one, as I can afford. The first thing to get replaced are the seats in front so they can have the angled ends for the girls to lay back on. Since I am doing it this way can buy a top of the line seat. Is there a consensus on the top 2 or 3 seat manufacturers?

Thanks,

Chris

pontoonstuff.com in my opinion, we get a 10% disount as well, yes there are some better ones out there like vaeda but I don't think the price difference is worth it.

check out the link in my signature for my rebuild post.

Very nice! Are those Deck Mate seats? I was wondering how solid they feel with the plastic bases. Are the new boats being manufactured currently using plastic based seating? I am going ro look at your restoration link. I really like the job you did!

I'd think hard about replacing seats one at a time as styles and colors could very well change and/or become no longer avilable...

While I don't know the brand the seats on my Sun Tracker have the plastic bases and they do seem very strong and well built; what I like most about them is that with the plastic meeting the deck you don't have to worry about the bases getting buggered up or torn by stuff hitting or getting hung up, nor will they suck up water and rot....

Thanks. Yep DeckMate seats! Almost all new seats have plastic bases. There are also drain channels under the seats for the water to run through and under your fence to help dry things out faster. I agree with teecro if you can swing them all or most of them I would do it to get them to match perfectly. Here is a pic of my brothers after his seat replacement.

BTW, I put DryDeck under ALL my seats, so the stuff stored there stays dry.

I used Wise deluxe seats during my rebuild from Overtons when they had a 20% sale AND free shipping one Black Friday. I'm pretty sure Wise became or makes the Deckmate stuff, some of the lines look identical except the color options. Also ordered a carpet kit and my Bimimi from Pontoonstuff and got great service from them also.

Hi Everyone

I just want to clear up any confusion.... My DeckMate line of seating is not made by Wise, the reason it looks similar is because I used to buy seating from Wise when I first started my business and they had built for me a custom line which is now their "Premier" line, this was what I designed and had them make for me. We have not sold Wise seating since 2011. DeckMate is a company I own and we are not affiliated with Wise in any way.

Just want to make sure everyone knows that :)

Thank you!

Thanks for the Clarification James. I know your busy!, but if you've got the time, I'm curious, when we're comparing seats, what are the real differences between a "premier" line and second tier within a manufacturer or between manufacturers etc. Is it foam density, vinyl quality, stitching, all the above? Premier pontoon boasts about 7 star furniture with springs in it. It's really hard to tell the difference in quality with pictures though between deckmate, Wise, Vieda, 7 star etc. How should we be comparing these things?
