Do you know the weight of that 3rd pontoon?
I don't know the weight of it but I'm guessing it is pretty close to the same weight as the other two as they are close to the same size. Why do you ask?
Just curious, as I have no idea how much weight is added when adding a 3rd pontoon. Since you have it off the boat and had to move it around, I thought you might have an idea.

I agree with the other poster, TIG might be better at filling pin holes than MIG.

Put the boat in the lake today to try it out. The back sits a good 4" higher with the 3rd toon. Even after adding the front hard top and 2 seats up front I'm still going 22mpH gps. Rides much better too especially with a load of people you really notice the difference as the speed doesn't plummet so much. I need to hook up the tachometer to see what rpms I'm running but it definitely seems like I'm not taching as high as I could.

As for the pin holes I slapped some marine epoxy and spray on bedloner over until I can take the boat to a proper welder.

Depending on how much area you put the bedliner on might cause you some drag. Maybe some acrylic vinyl, or epoxy might be a better coating.

But hey its in the water ! Enjoy :thumbsup

Yes, I'm excited to under skin and add strakes. Then will see if changing the prop will improve things. I would love to se 30mph with this 115 hp

The Bedliner was only sprayed on the back of the toon around the transom so I don't think there will be much issue with drag. The rustoleum brand goes on pretty smooth anyway

Picked up a 2000 Suzuki DT 140 HP 2 stroke. Got it mounted today and hooked up controls temporarily to do a test run. It's going to need new controls and a tune. Also need to get a tachometer to see if a different prop will improve the speed. It topped out at 22mph gps with very dirty toons. The 1999 Mercury 115 was struggling to get to 20 mph with the dirty toons
