Can't wait till the end! He's probably thinking the same thing lol

But every time I look at this thread, I'm wondering if there could ever be any money to be made. Just buying old ones that are run down, and doing a resto job on them, like the one he's doing.

You guys think there is any money to be made?

Honestly no I don't think so for for the most part....take my build...I paid $3000 for boat and trailer, now I've put about $2000 so far and still need to purchase seats, bases, bait pumps, bimini etc...so I could have about $6500 in it maybe more ? Not including labor which is many many hours :scared ....
I've gone through this restoring Honda CBXs and 750f...by the time you add 150 to 200 hours labor....well you get the picture...lol
Bottom line I do this kind of stuff for the satisfaction of bringing something back from a mess to better than new..

That said this is my first boat...pontoon or otherwise..

Had a little time to work on the boat...applied the burgundy stripes though they look more red than burgundy :donno but it looks ok..went with two burgundy instead of one burgundy and one tan...the tan just didn't go with the back ground color..
If I was to do it again I would spray the stripes on...received the new seat bases so that's next to install...slowly but surely :)

Thanks ! And BIG thanks to James at Pontoonstuff.com :thumbsup I've just placed another order....Fast shipping at great prices !

Notice some oil leaking from just above the prop so drained the oil ...grayish looking ..not good.. pulled the prop and shaft .so ordered a oring...hopefully that will do it :?:

Also replaced a rotting bunker board...so few more items off the list...

Thanks ! Almost ready to do the under skinning ....coming up with alternatives to mount my trolling motor up at the bow...don't want it cluttered ...Will post pictures of what I finally come up with ....

Was hoping to get it in the water by Thanksgiving but I want to wait until I get the under skinning finished :(

Ok a little update...she's 99 % done :nana just waiting for the upholstery girl to finish my seat for the swing back then ready for the water !... think I started this around July....seems longer...really happy the way it came out..we want to use it for awhile then will add a table and more seats ??? Just not sure about placement....
I have a hopefully small problem..when I set the boat back on the trailer the bunk on one side of pontoon doesn't cradle the toon right..I did replace a rotten bunk on that side but made sure it was lined up as before...it's like the width of the pontoons shrank ? Tried to show it in the pictures .... I'm hoping once I get the trailer unloaded and then loaded back up with the boat things fall back into place :donno

Finally got the boat in the water and she floats !!!! :nana
Had a nice couple of hours in the water had no problems engine ran flawlessly the underskining helped tremendously in the smoothness of the ride but only gain about one mile-per-hour ...but was well worth doing that part of the project..
Will use the boat on the water for a while before we decide what and where to place more furniture and/or tables ..overall I'm very happy with the project and want to thank everybody here for their input and for helping when I had dumb questions :donno ....also still have to locate the trolling motor on bow I'm working on an idea for that as I do not want the motor laying on the floor ....I want to mount it a upright permanent position ...
