Ignition no power, gauges not lighting up trim doesnt work

#1 Post by reddog » Thu Oct 22, 2015 5:39 am

90 hp EFI Mercury 2009 Suntracker 22 pontoon
So the ignition switch vibrated loose, key came out and was dangling. Was running great till then. Now everything on the boat works except the motor and the trim. I have checked fuse box, all good. I have power to the motor, I do not get power to the ignition switch. There is a fuse box panel, all are fine. There is a box looking fuse by the battery that has a yellow tab on it. It was sticking out a little I pushed it back in. When I use a voltage tester I am getting power from one side of the box fuse by the battery to the other side so I don't think that is it.
Has anyone else had this happen and what was the problem?
When I first tried to put the ignition switch back in the hole and put the nut back on I did see a small spark. That makes me think fuse but I have been unable to locate.
Getting power everywhere except to the ignition switch, and the trim.

Power to the switch?

If so switch may be bad.

Did you look at the fuses on the motor itself? For example only:

Boat is fixed, Thanks for the help. Just in case someone else has this problem, my fuses are not like in the video they are mounted to side of motor close to spark plugs. I have an extra fuse on board now...
