Will this work as a battery disconnect/kill switch
http://www.amazon.com/Post-Battery-Mast ... ill+switch
Is this what I want? I just want to be able to disconnect the battery when I leave, and this looks simpler than installing a larger switch on the wall of the battery compartment.
Also, I can't seem to figure out if this should go on + or -. Many seem to be saying -, but that just doesn't sound right. If -, is this the right size?
Thanks, guys.

That's the same one I use. Goes on the "-" side.

Scroll down in the Amazon description. It states to put it on the negative terminal. I would have guessed the + one and I would have been wrong.

Thanks, guys. I ordered it.

What are some benefits to the switch? Would it slow or help prevent electrolysis/corrosion when the boat sits longer periods, a month or so?

Re: Will this work as a battery disconnect/kill switch
In my case, after only about two weeks, I had a totally drained battery. So I'm mainly just looking to avoid that.
I ended up buying an extra battery (so we could still go out that day), and a nice 12A smart charger. I'm still amazed at the technology there, the automatic adjusting from initial testing, to bulk charging, to absorption charging, to trickle/float charging. It's incredible.
But yeah, with this switch I want to be able to lift the seat and do a quick disconnect.

I believe you can also get these at most auto parts stores and harbor freight. They even have a knob type of disconnect switch as shown below.
