I just wanted to say thank you, to everyone who has posted on here. Because of the information I learned from this site, I was able to re-build the boat and I was very happy with it.

A couple years ago I bought a 1990 Bass Buggy with trailer. It was beyond rough. I figured, I remodel houses everyday, I could remodel a boat. I got it completely done, early this spring. Now I've sold it.

After tearing everything off the boat, I replaced the entire deck, installed a new vinyl floor, painted the deck rails, re-attached them with the spacers, installed new seats and console, and put on a new bimini top.

A couple things I changed: Originally the motor sat up between the pontoons. I moved the transom back 35 1/2". I got rid of the original gas tank. It was pretty rough anyway. I got rid of the original oil tank. It had been cut off years ago. This gave me a back deck 35" x 8'. In my case I decided to build a box for the gas tank. A transom that contained the gas tank would have been ideal, but budget won out. It worked out fine, I installed a hinged top and made it a seat. It worked good for sitting and fishing from the back.

I moved the center console forward, as far as I could. I got one from Bill in Salem. With the live-well in the front. I re-used the original live-well, by cutting it down. Then I made a fold-able seat for it also. I re-installed all of the original wiring in the new console.

I didn't do much to the trailer. The lights didn't work so I installed a set of LEDs. The ramp I was using wasn't the greatest. In order to get the boat off, I had to put the back of the truck in the lake. To fix this, I lengthened the tongue by 3' and made a set of steps to get in. The original did have steps, but they were weak. Actually the center tower that the winch mounted to, was weak which made the steps wobbly. I made a new tower and installed a new winch.

Most of the new items came from Pontoon Stuff. Everything was great and the shipping was unbelievably fast. I got some items from Bill in Salem. He's a good guy. If I were to start another project, I would definitely buy from him again.

The boat looked great and worked really good. With my daughter getting ready for college in the fall, I've started to worry about getting it all paid for. I decided that selling the boat would pay for alot of college.
Now I'm left with 2 small jon boats. I'm okay with it. I'm going to embrace the small and cheap.

Looks great ! The vinyl is the way for a fishing rig for sure!

The vinyl is so much better than the carpet, in my opinion. I've washed it down several times. When I was selling it, I mentioned to the new owner, the vinyl was better for fishing, but no matter what someone will have dirty shoes and walk on it.

I went with him when he put it in the lake for the first time. His kids got on the boat and one of them left footprints all the way back. He pointed down and said, I see what you were talking about.
