1996 Tahoe reupolster

#1 Post by CapeDave » Thu Sep 21, 2017 8:53 am

2017 new to us 1996 20' Tahoe powered by a 60hp Bigfoot Mercury.
Took about what seemed like all day to pressure wash the mud out of the carpet.
While washing, it was very apparent that it was in desperate need off fence risers.
Ordered up the riser's and a couple of yards of vinyl to see how hard and if I was able to
reupholster the seats.
I will say that this is one fine constructed vessel all aluminum and stainless construction with the exception of the console,
the plywood decking and the plywood in the seat bottoms and under the carpet on the seat bases.
The frames for the seats is aul. square tubing.
The Mercury is amazingly quiet for a two stroke. Ran a little ruff a first but that has cleared up. Had not run in about 5 years.
I only hooked up the engine wiring because I am going to rewire the rest of it with new leds, stereo etcc.....
After I made up and installed the first seat cover I knew it was all going to be done.
So far reupholster in materials is under 400$ I had a Tuff Sew walking foot sewing machine that I use for
repairs on the Hobie cat sails and trampoline.
Well the seats as far as I am conserned are coming out awesome with out spending a fortune on.
