Nice. I don't think those were available last year when I made my own (LED).
You can see the imprint in the carpet left by my trip hazard lights.
only problem with flush mounts are the lack of vertical adjustment, that is why I went with what I did

otherwise back ones would be in the water and front would light up the top of trees lol
I see that point, bansil. I have no interest in lighting up the night sky! I'm gonna have to think that through. I don't have as much front lip as Mark has, but those are damn nice looking. :thumbsup (I insert that "thumbs up" knowing emoticons don't show up.)

Sooooo... I get home from work today and my neighbor buddy decided he needed to announce that the new porta-potty arrived. He enlisted some great help! LOL

Plus -- A look at how things are shaping up. Getting close!

Thanks, Craig! Getting really, really close now.

Motor guy came today. Pulled off the cover and the first words were, "This looks like a new motor!" New gas, new oil, pulled and cleaned the carbs, new fuel filter - turned the key one bump and it fired right up! He stood there smiling with his arms crossed. I think I peed a little. :lol3

Gotta go out of town this weekend - dammit. Hope to get it wet 1st of the week. Weeehoooo! :nana

We were able to get the Loretta Jane in the water Saturday! WOW! Felt like a kid waiting for Santa!! Did a short day Saturday - launched and then about an hour's ride. It was a nice shakedown cruise and then on the lift checking out the wet spots.
Sunday was about 4 hrs of cruise around and park awhile, and cruise around and park awhile. Everything went like a dream! Got back on the lift, unloaded everything / everyone, started cleaning up and found the steering wheel suddenly just started free spinning. DAMN! Appears to be either the helm or the steering cables themselves. Now have my next work already lined up for me. :nutkick

BUT! Not gonna be unhappy. God smiled on me all day and all the way back onto the lift. I was greatly appreciative the steering held until we were home! THAT would've sucked.

:thumbsup :thumbsup

Holy Crap! Trying to fix my broken steering cable, I couldn't get the cable to pull out for love or money. I just thought I was doing something wrong. I just thought it was because the steering cable was bundled with other wiring. But Noooooo! Toward the back of the boat the cable had been rubbed enough that it blew out. The interior cable had blown out of the outer shell and had a loop in it about as big as your hand. You can tell by the discoloring how long it had been that way.

I'm amazed it steered at all - even for a short time. Getting that out took until dark. Back at it this morning. Maybe now I can get it fixed!

What does a rubbed, broken steering cable look like? THIS!

And of course, the next monster rears its ugly damn head. Geez! When it rains it pours.

QUESTION for you mechanics -- Can I verify that the trim motor is dead by touching the leads at the motor with a voltmeter looking for power? Right now, I have no trim control, but am concerned that it may be a yanked connection somewhere from the steering cable pull. Then - No power = pulled wire. Power, but no response = dead motor. Could really use some insight. Thanks!

Does it EVER end?? :nutkick

HOLY CARP

I don't think you need a Multi-meter for that diagnosis :lol3

I know you're right, bansil. I guess what I am/ was hoping would be that it work just long enough to get it to the launch and on the trailer. You can see in the picture that under the motor I'm on the lift. I did the steering cable replacement booger standing in waist deep water for 2 days, but I can pretty much know that this is gonna be a driveway job. Dammit.

Oh, and obviously trim motors aren't cheap.

Craig - "yikes" was the nicest thing I said!! :censored :lol3

Do you not have a bleed valve you can loosen for manual operation?

Do NOT be under motor when you loosen it, that shit be heavy YO'

what year or model and SN of engine, we can look for diagrams or a manual.

mine has a manual bleed, as well as manual electric controls on the side of engine (great for installing transom saver)

4 stroke info

I have read you should be able to loosen bleed screw and pull up, some say you may have to put it into reverse to unlock it? I think that is only for manual tilt/trim
