Floor Coverings

Once I find my boat, I will most likely start with the floor. Assuming it has marine plywood decking and cost being a factor what are my best options? My wife wants a floor that is comfortable on the feet and not too hot or slick. This is Texas, after all. I definitely want water proof. The way I see it, my options are:

1. Tinted bedliner paint (in a light color to keep the heat down) I worry that this would be tough on my beautiful wife's lovely feet, but I am open to suggestions. I think this would be the least slippery option.

2. Epoxy flooring like commonly used in garage floors with rubber sprinkles to prevent slipping. How are they with heat? How pricey is it and can I do it myself?

3. Vinyl flooring. How durable is vinyl compared to the other options?

I plan on prepping the plywood floor by caulking the seams, sanding it, and applying a good primer. I'd love pictures of what you've done if you have them. TIA.

I understand that one of the advantages of a Pontoon boat is it very simple constructed and that makes it easy to "customize", often times using non marine accessories. I'm not meaning to offend anyone, but it's still a boat and I think it should be treated like one. I'd recommend using vinyl flooring designed for a marine application. That's what new pontoon boat manufacturers are using these days, and it's current best practice for pontoon boat flooring.

Just my opinion!

The most popular flooring right now is a marine vinyl, which is very heavy and thick stuff. I especially like the woven look vinyl. (My Bennington has a heavy marine carpet.)
The vinyls are not especially difficult to install if you use the correct specialized mastic (glue) and use a 100 pound vinyl roller to get out any bubbles.

Two thumbs up for vinyl flooring. It cools down with a couple buckets of lake water. If the sun is too intense, add a double bimini.
