Screws vs Bolts
I am rebuilding an old 24’ pontoon and I am debating on how to secure the new deck. What are the pros and cons to using bolts or screws?
Re: Screws vs Bolts
bolts take 2 people and screws can be done by one, and if you had 2 people, you could do screws twice as fast from up top

Re: Screws vs Bolts
I tried screws.....then I went out and got bolts when they wouldn't tighten.
Re: Screws vs Bolts
They were supposed to be self tapping but half of them just widened the pilot hole before they tightened. Maybe the metal on my old boat wast just too soft?

I used elevator bolts when I did my deck. The barbs on them allowed me to do it all by myself.
