Sorry for not replying.....I just got back to the forum and didnt realize I had messages. In the end my vinyl floor layed down just fine. If I had to do the flooring install again I would have used a lot more adhesive . I had no idea how much one gallon would cover so I used it sparingly. It needs to be slopped on pretty darn good to work correctly. So the bottom line is that I didnt use enough adhesive in addition to having to cover over my screw holes filled with rubber caulk. In the end it didnt matter that much because the vinyl is heavy weight and lays down pretty well on its own. What I did do correctly was pull tight and staple the crap out the the edges and that made up for my other mistakes.
Lesson learned.
