+3 on spacers! Using a blower it gets rid of twigs leaves etc. going under the fence!

Well I do appreciate the input! My feeling is the rails (when bolted down and touching the floor) add to the structural integrity so to speak, especially when it comes to how much the entire boat flexes. My floor supports are pretty flimsy, I tore up most of the plywood today and I'm actually going to buy at least a few different supports, MOSTLY because I got a bit of a nasty surprise and found a couple that are damaged, but since I have to buy a few I'm also going to replace the supports at all the plywood joints.
