Reading this thread reminds me that last year I replaced my weathered fuel line ass'y with a new one from the boat section in the local hardware store (no boat stores near me). One of those "ethanol-compliant" gray hose jobbies. I immediately had problems maintaining WOT so I swapped the old black hose back on.
I need to fabricate a new ass'y with a Merc bulb & new black hose & name-brand connectors.
Need help with fuel tank fittings....

After replacing the above mentioned parts including new fuel lines it has run flawlessly(knock on wood). Looking forward to summer!
