Got the email and checked it out. REAL progress! I do agree about the light touch by the crane operator with that kind of weight hanging off of the boom. Not his first rodeo.

I do enjoy these updates.
Agree totally. Really enjoy seeing the progress. Looks like you'll be moving in the day after tomorrow! :rofl

Congratulations so far. Keep the updates coming!

We can't wait either, what was well price at that depth? Also did you normal diameter or larger for fire suppression? We are looking at later to cover gtfo paths.

Bansil - the well ended up being 305' deep. It's a 6" well. Total cost of well, waterline to house, and pressure tank and switch was $8665.

By the way, I just posted the pics and info showing for the August update. https://lkaescape.com/august-updates

Love the module idea, several friends have done them.

Sadly a bunch of old fudds put in the p.o.a. (1970's) no modular homes brought on trailers. So, we start in spring, sucks cause cabinets are 9+ months and appliances are like 3 to 6.

So custom cabinets now don't make since because of wood prices....hate this clown world.

Your place looks great!....what is move in date? :drink2

Modulars sometimes get thrown in the same category as "trailers" or "manufactured" homes, when in fact they are identical to stick built homes in every sense, including permit requirments, etc. They are just mostly built off site. I'd appeal to your POA board!

Move in has already begun with a couple of carloads of small stuff, but most of the furniture comes on Tuesday, so by next weekend we'll be ready to sleep there if we want to.

Waaaaay cool, Steve! Congratulations. It turned out really nice - and it was well thought out. Almost seems like it went too smoothly!

Like Paul, I too have enjoyed tagging along.

:biggrin2 Really enjoyed watching this come together. Couple questions

1) Will the final price be close to your estimates?
2) How does the price compare to a standard build onsite project vs modular ?

1)I don't have the "final-final" total yet as there is still some work to be done with grading, landscaping, driveway, garage, etc. But as far as the actual house itself, the only changes were for things I added along the way. I upgraded the HVAC system, adding a top notch water filter, gutter guards, and a few other minor things. My septic installer did increase the price by about 14% from his original quote, but the quote was done in February, so I didn't really expect him to honor that price 7 months later since material costs have increased.

2) My builder also does onsite built and he says that a modular typically ends up being about 5-7% cheaper. I also feel it's a better built house for slightly less money. For example, most stick builts aren'g going to have 6" exterior walls.
