1996 Mariner 40 Hp Magnum 4 Cyc Water Around Spark Plugs.

Have a question- About 6 weeks ago I bought a boat to clean/fix up and resale. A 1996 Sweetwater 20' Fishing Model. Finshed fixing and polishing. Looks Great. Put it up for sale. I have not taken this boat out on the lake to run. I have only had it on a garden hose muffs. Tonight I was running the engine for someone and we notice that there was water seeping from around the spark plugs. Thought that maybe the water hose that comes from the top of the head and connnects to the pee hole had a leak, removed the hose seems to be in good shape. The engine starts, Idles good, and revs up good. Removed all 4 plugs and did not find any plugs wet with water. Removed all the spark plug wires and took out the top plug and then cranked over the motor and I we did not see any water come out off the cyclinder. Not sure what to think, A bad had gasket? :donno Thanks for the help. I should add that the water just seems to drip/dribble right from around the plugs.
