Sylvan's RPT Toon Problems?

You are right - it is time for them to replace the RPTs. I hope Sylvan has been paying for the welding repairs each time.

After many band aid welds and toon replacement in 2011, Sylvan arranged shipment to their facility last December for toon replacements - got it back in April. They've started adding bulkheads in the nose sections in 2012 and newer toons, seems to have worked. No leaks this year.

The RPT's sure looked good on paper. Too bad they were too complicated for construction to be reliable.

Pontoons are best when there are fewer welds.

I thought maybe that was the answer. Put some Cialis in your pontoon and it makes it stiffer!! But never for more than 4 hours at a time!

I dropped one in my outboard crankcase and sure enough it popped a rod.

I had an 8522 years ago. Had it for two months and the port toon leaked. The dealer came to me, pressure tested and welded the seam. I sold at the end of the season. Dealer was great
