Suzuki controls / Johnson motor

Can a Suzuki control box and cables be used or adapted to work with a johnson/evdr. motor ?

Not likely as the wiring will be different.

On the same topic ... my Quicksilver controls are really stiff. I dread taking the apart. Has anyone done it.
Is there a diagram out there. I am sure its just corrosion or just old.
