Power pole

#1 Post by Gonefishing » Fri Jan 03, 2014 5:13 pm

Anyone ever put a power pole on a toon. I am thinking of getting one since a lot of my fishing is in shallow water.

It is a anchor that mounts to the rear of the boat and used in shallow water. Runs off your battery.

I never have seen one on a pontoon boat, but if your fishing conditions will handle one--go for it.

Our lake's too deep for one to do much good.

I keep two 10 ft pipes I got from the electrical dept at Home Depot, I just hammer them in and rope it off. Works great for me.
I also can use it to push off from the bank if the water is cold.
I fish shallow for catfish a lot during the spring.
I often wonder if Jimmy really did crack corn, and why should I care?

Only the minn Kota talon is electric, the power pole is hydraulic. Here's a couple pics of them on toons

Nope about the same, 1300 and up, I think I'll be sticking to something on the manual side

I see them for about $100 less in (comparable) models. And there is a few sites like moodeals.com who have very good prices on them often... My friend got two 8' talons at $900 a piece last year for his bay boat from this site.

I came across this on another thread. Seems reasonably priced. Anyone had any experience with? It looks like the only to mount it on a toon would be at the bow. Appreciate your thoughts.
