Nice boats guys! My old Manitou ran the fastest with a Raker. The Rebel was the best "All Around" prop, it gave me the best economy. The Vipers are designed to slip alot, you get alittle more speed from it, but the fuel usage is noticeable. I ran 4 blade Renegades, they give you stern lift like crazy and trimming out causes cavatation. My best set up.... 10" Hydraulic jackplate with a 22 Raker for speed. 19 Rebel and a 21 Viper, on the the 24 Xplode with the Etec 250.
Stil trying to get this Premier dialed in. It likes the Enertia, best. Mirage Plus is #2, so far. But I have 2 new ones to spin yet. Maybe later today or tomorrow.
Keep ya posted! You keep me posted on your results!
The more info we gain, the more I can share with the boys in Lansing. (Manitou)

Thanks guys! I had her out last weekend, didnt have a GPS but got to 50 on the speedo with 4 adults, gear and a full tank of fuel at about 5800 rpms's.. Very happy with the speed, acceleration and handling, was in 2-3 foot waves with no problem and no splash in my face. did a few wide open turns and does blow the prop out a little more then i expected and scrubs some speed but ive had high performance speedboats for the last 15 years of my life so its all relative. Awesome boat!!!!

Nice boat! Let me know how it runs when you get it wet. I've got a 2011 270 with a 250 VMAX spinning a 14-1/4 18 pitch. I'm curious about the top speeds on some of the smaller, lighter boats (ours is every bit of 28' and loaded is certainly in the 4500# range). I can pull mid 40's with just my wife and I in goo conditions - RPM's top just shy of 5800. I've had 6 plus a load (coolers, gear, etc.) and pushed 40. am thinking I might swap out to a 19p or 20p 4 blade - not sure about size yet. with the way it's set now it comes out of the water like a rocket and is planed in no time.

I went to the Manitou for the same reason - cut my teeth on go fast CC boats for offshore fishing, we had fountains - so I wanted something that moved and handled.[/quote]

I'm surprised your boat didnt sell. Saw it on Craigslist and I spoke with you a few months back about it before my Checkmate was sold. Yours was on my short list but i got such a good deal on this leftover with a 5 year warranty i couldn't pass it up. Love the colors! :biggrin2

Chaz, the prop size is stamped on the prop, on the back side of the hub. Where is your motor mounted hole wise? Manitou is liberal when mounting the motors. If you are in the center, raise it up a set of holes.

I figured it was stamped on the inside. Havent taken the prop off yet. The motor is mounted in the highest hole, (deepest in the water). I may try to raise it one once I get some hours on it and learn the boat a little so I can feel what difference it makes.

Chaz - a cool pic indeed. I haven't had a chance to take my own similar pic. Did take a good one of it though the other weekend - posted over on my "welcome" post (eastern nc post). FYI on your boat - after cleaning the bottom we were able to get an extra ~3-4 mph. Adding the bottom paint got is another 3-4. May want to look into that.

very nice. great first choice. only problem is that your next boat will be hard to top your current boat.
