Water level

Does anybody know what the water level should be inside my toons ? LOL Just kiddin'. I never really payed attention to how the water distributes around my engine till yesterday, but it sprays up to the top of my lower unit. Is this OK ? I am assuming the mounting holes on the engine are not really for adjusting the height seeing how it can only adjust 1 1/2 " up or down. It was just me, my wife and grandbaby with a real light payload and nothing in the rear and it looked like the engine was riding deep in the water. Having the large toons I wouldn't think it would be so low. Just curious.............
