All Finished, Ready to go!!

#1 Post by Richard_Kuhn » Sat May 09, 2009 6:11 pm

Going to make her maiden voyage tomorrow. Shake down cruise. Finished up the last today. Put a "81" 90 HP Merc 6 cylinder, 45# Minkota trolling motor, and the top. Started the Merc, nice idle, opens up very quick. Can't wait to try it wot. Here is a link if you would like t see all of the pictures from the farmers field to finished. Quite a transformation.

Thanks to a lot of help from here it has been a very successful project.

GREAT JOB and happy boating

TIP keep a close eye on top cylinder. Lots of inline 6 Mercs would score top cyilnder from lack of cooling. Keep water pump changed regularly and if you get into mud or silt be sure and flush well on a hose muff when home.

Well, all went pretty much ok on the outing. I believe that the prop may have spun, but still a good anyway. Cooling was even across all of the cylinders it ran great til the prop problem. Top speed (GPS) came at 37 mph after working with the trim on the motor. Trolling motor worked well. It didn't help me catch any walleye. Was a good time all in all. Sorry no pics this trip, had the prop problem before I broke out the camera.
