7-8 mpg pulling toon with 2005 5.3L Tahoe. That's why I keep it in dry storage at the lake rather than tow 2 hrs each way to the lake.

Towing a 24 ft Crestliner with a 2000 Classic GMC with a 454.......5 MPG!!!!!!!!! It is like towing a house even downhills. We found a secure storage area for the summer 2 miles from the ramp. :devillol

Having read through these posts, I'm glad I've got my toon in a slip at El Dorado.

Drove over today, had lunch at "Charlie G's".

Walked out on the slip, swabbed off the cobwebs (the one bad thing about having a boat around water), powered up, buzzed around the lake, and then fished for a while, catching a limit of Channel Cats, and then headed home.

The "Admiral" liked the ride and caught three nice cats of her own.

So.......FISH FRY for supper!

Thank God I have a slip and a lift!!!! 80 miles round trip from the house to the boat, 4 weekends a month from May thru Sept on the average at 2.75 per gallon is 366.00 for fuel. That pays for just under 25% of my slip cost....wow.

I average 10-12 MPG.

I get the same doing about 70 with my truck. I've seen you over on GM-trucks.com-I've got the same user name there. I've only towed with the cover on through which make s alot more drag. (I hate towing with covers but it was raining and the toon was clean). I'd like to see how it would do with the cover off and doors open.

Because of this bad mileage I pay ~$1000 a year for a 10x10x60' enclosed storage unit that is a 1/4 mile from the ramp-best money I ever spent. I save on gas, vehicle wear and tear, and it's safer. These pontoon surely aren't like pulling the bass boats I was used to before.

You put the 2,100 pound Lance Camper in the back of my F-250, with the V-10 Triton gas motor, then hook up the 4,000 pound boat and trailer in the back, and commence to drive over the three 11,000+ foot passes I have to go over to get to my lake, and you'll see about 9 MPG.

I had no idea they were that big of a drag! I'm glad my boat slip is about 1/2 mile from my house. Each subdivision has our own boat ramp so I have to drive down the street, take a right turn, then a left turn and I'm there. I can be in the water in less than 10 minutes. I get about 15-18 MPG pulling my 33' 5th wheel at around 68 MPH. That's with my 2000 F-250 7.3 power stroke turbo diesel.

No Idea of mileage but my toon pulls a lot harder above 20 0or 30 MPH than a trailer load of trees, 10 or 15 K lbs.
