Wow! What a difference! I can't believe how smooth this thing is. The handling is so much better than my old toon. The power steering makes a huge difference.
We took her out today for the first 2 hours of the engine break in. I hated waiting until that 1 hour point. Then she just jumped up and skimmed over the water.

Very Cool! Congrats... wish it was warm enough up here in Iowa to go out for the cruise! You got a good deal on it! Pays to wait till the winter slump.

No, it's a Hemi. I really looked into the diesel though. I am sure I would have been happy either way.Flattop wrote:Very Nice! That Ram a diesel?

Re: Looking at a Bennington......Bought it!
Hi Lt Dan, No doubt you made a good decision. I have owned several types of boats of all kinds and sizes. Pontoon is favorite and I've had five I bought used. This past end of season, I pulled my 2002 23 ft Tahoe Grand Fisher and found the pontoons to be in such condition that it didn't seem worth the time, effort or cost to redo so stopped at Robbins Marine in Milton, PA and bought my very first new pontoon. I downsized a bit and went for a 20' Bennington SS with a Yamaha 90 4 stroke. At my age (72) I didn't want to go head over heels so we bought exactly what suited our needs and pleasure. The hard part now is having it sit in Milton waiting for the Spring so we can take it home, throw a coat of wax on it and then take it to our slip at Lake Wallenpaupack. I have had a slip at the Ledgedale Recreational Area since the early 80's. My Tahoe had a 2006 Yamaha 115 4 stoke and it was outstanding. Really loved it so I'm expecting great things from my new 90 4 stroke. Enjoy your season on your new Bennington and keep an eye out for the other guy. Best of luck. By the way, I kept my trailer to save a few bucks, it's in good condition and got out the door for total $25,000 tax, etc. including trade.

I made a couple of modifications to the boat. The grill works great and it is sturdy enough to leave in place while running down the lake. I had to do a little trimming to get the slide in ladder to fit.
