Looking at a Bennington......Bought it!

#1 Post by Lt. Dan » Tue Dec 15, 2015 9:37 am

So I stopped by the local Bennington dealer and the have a leftover 2015 24 SSRX.
It has the SPS triple tube, Yamaha 150, hydraulic steering, power assist steering, and full sea grass floor.
Price out the door with Wesco trailer plus tax and fee is $40,000.
Opinions?

With the length, HP, trailer, and especially being a triple tube Bennington, I don't think that is a bad price at all. Maybe lean on them a little more and perhaps they'll know off another $1K or so. Nice package.

try to get one with center tube storage (ski locker) .. we have that on our triton and it holds a ton of stuff.. plus it's a great place to store skies and water toys.

I doubt there going to tear up a new boat for him. That's why you get a good price for whats on the lot. I think that's a good price. Bama man can tell you, I think that's his model as well.

It is the only 2015 left over they have other than some 20 footers. That price is about 25% off List price. I was amazed at what the cost for the power steering option is! In floor storage would be nice but that is an expensive option and I would have to buy a 2016 to get it and pay even more.

:thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup THIS !

Otherwise, it appears to be a very fair price, especially including the trailer. The Bennington Dealer at our Lake doesn't negotiate much, if at all..... The one I priced up similar to the Berkshire we purchased WITHOUT a trailer was about $60k. Needless to say, we didn't buy there.

That's a very decent price on a very popular model--with the rear recliners. I've got the 24SSLX Express third tube, and the SPS is substantially more expensive than my 3/4 length center toon.

Bennington is one of two pontoon companies that are sustaining sales increases in a rather flat retail market. They're a customer oriented company and the quality of their welds and workmanship are so good. I honestly don't know how Bennie puts out so many floorplans on four different trim levels of boats--and still can deliver a custom order in 6 weeks or less. It's just one heck of a company, and the resale prices of their boats is tops in the industry.

Go for it.

I SENT YOU A PM.

Hey Lt Dan.
To give you some reference, i thought i would mention our Bennington pontoon purchase this past September.
We bought a leftover (new) 2014 2375 GCW with a 90hp Mercury and 24 ft Genesis twin axle bunk trailer (without brakes, only tow about 1 mile to launch). Paid $40,000 out the door.Tax and prep included.
Build and price for this boat, (2015 model, same motor, and same options, no trailer) on Benningtons web site comes in around $52,000. We felt it was a reasonable price.

You will like the power assisted steering, we have it on our boat and it's great for water sports for when you need to turn the boat quickly and great for cruising when you wan't to steer with just a few fingers or your knee.

while the in toon storage would be nice, i wouldn't break the deal over it. you can put a wakeboard tower style rack on your ski tow bar and gain some space. we had one on ours for a while and it really helped free up space. around $250.

Sounds good to me.. mine is a 22 ssrx with the same options except different flooring, center storage and extended aft deck. I paid 45k out the door... I bought in prime season last April/May.

I've read less than 20% off not a great deal, 20-24% off average to good deal, 25%+ off great deal (usually off season, left overs)
