Picked up the new center pontoon

#1 Post by lightpants » Tue Apr 19, 2016 5:24 am

Drove from Lancaster, PA to Racine, Wisconsin and picked up a new center pontoon for my boat.
And it has a ski locker!
I am replacing my pontoon water glide.
I am interested to see how it effects my ride.
I will report back after I get it mounted.
And if anyone is looking for a pontoon water glide, I'm selling one!

Looks good Jim (coming from one former WG owner to another).

So what's next? Rebuild the blenders? :smoke

What do you want to know? I have had my water glide for about 10 years. I have been happy with it. It did what they said it would.
I like to tinker with things, and I have been wanting to see what a third pontoon with lifting strakes would change. I will post my results.
If anyone wants to try the water glide, let me know. I should have it removed this weekend.

looks nice, plan on mounting it flush up front or moving it back as far as possible?

I am planning on mounting it right before the motor pod. By my measurements it will be about 4 feet from the front of the boat.

Do you have any updates? :drool

I am curious, does your side pontoons have lifting strakes?

No strakes on my other 2 pontoons.
I have the center toon installed, and I have the doors to my ski locker cut and installed as well.
I have to install my under-skin and I will be ready to float her! I decided to not cut my motor pod, and just move the third pontoon forward to clear the motor pod.

Thanks for the pics. :biggrin2
The ski locker is a huge bonus and looks well done! Thumbs up!

I am excited to hear your performance results as I am considering a similar project.
