After several years of building pvc hold ups in all kinds of configurations I hit upon an idea that has worked out really well for me. My Bimini stays in the up travel position all times (thanks to a tree limb that failed to see me coming). I took 1 inch conduit holders and mounted 2 in line to the top and bottom railing at 3 locations on each side. I bought 20 foot sticks of pvc and trial and error cut them to create an arch from side to side the same height as the Bimini. I just pull the tarp over them and bungee it to the trailer. Lots of room inside with nothing in the way if I want to get in to do work. Very easy to remove tarp and slide the pipes out when ready to go to lake
Been using it this way for 3 years and no issues to report
