i boat on a large bay with winds ,chop and heavy boat traffic and were always looking out for the next boat passing us and swamping us with its wake, but no more,i already installed the center toon, were adding strakes the the center toon and the insides of the outer toons, and adding a 250 outboard to hopefully get this beast to plane and get out of its own way, anyone want to add their 2 cents to my madness ?

PICS ? :)

Sounds reasonable to me........ That will be a heavy vessel, any idea what pitch you will use on that prop?

Sounds like a positive solution, but you also have to consider the strength of your deck, I'd want to take the boat down to the cross members and brace it up.... because with the weight of that boat being your resistance, something is going to have to give with that amount of power you are putting behind it. also find a example of what I would want to mimic my strake off of to get the best lift, I'd look at the heaviest Tritoon example I could find, maybe a Jc or Benny and try to figure out how to get your boat to lift.
Did you already get a beefy center toon? South Bay?

decided to go with a 10 inch bobs hyd jack plate and strengthen the transom a bunch, bobs makes some quality stuff, removed the transom and going to seal all places water normall comes in and install a bilge pump in case anything gets in,eventually I will seal it completely,i am sealing it to get a little extra buoyancy/strength for transom ,

Hell ya, you're going in the right direction! Next off season, chop off the outer toon end caps, build 2 more transoms and pop on trip 250's! Shit... I would!
Oh crap, now you've given me ideas. Denise hates it when I get ideas. I have a 28' camper in the boat shop. I can get trip 34' pontoons and 3 Seven Marine 627's. If I re-mortage the house and sell some guns and ammo.... God dammit, see what you did! I'm goin shopping!

I made a custom center toon out of 2 toons with 50 gal fuel cell in stern toon, added homemade strakes and she does 25 mph presently, gets on plane very quick and such a smooth ride unless the bay is nasty, uses alot less fuel now and rides on top of the water ,going to try a stainless prop next ,peace

We have the Party Barge 254. 250HP Mercury Supercharged. tops out at 49 MPH (GPS and gauges). Handles waves well below 30 mph, beats the crap out of you the faster you go after that if big chop or waves.
