having to replace my starter switch ..got stuck for a few hours on the water cause it wouldnt work, but eventually it did..just made a bad day ..but anyway... while Im swapping it out, Ive wondered what these other two items do...or used to do.. #1 looks like its been ripped out or something missing (from previous owner) and #2 , its a knob...but whats it for?
btw..there seems to be no safety switch on this..Im assuming thats whats missing? Im not sure if I should just buy a new starter switch..or just buy a whole new throttle assembly. $20 or @ $200-$300 ? lol

Maybe 1 used to be a trim control?

1. Torpedo Arm Switch
2. Torpedo Launch Switch

While these statements are not correct, it would be cool if they were!

My 2012 Merc Throttle control doesn't have a kill switch. I don't think it's that important.

lol, yeah! perfect spot between the toons for torpedos! just need a big GI Joe sticker on the side .
yeah ,no biggie if I dont have a kill switch on it (except the topredo kill switch lol) knowing I have to replace the ignition siwtch though..wasnt sure if there was some kookie wiring done by previous owner IF that was the kill switch, but the trim switch does make sense too.

I can't remember what #1 is but #2 is is used to adjust the tension of the throttle lever.

#1 was the warning horn, #2 is throttle tension, the other hole was the deadman.
