Garage is finally finished except for openers. Mistake by door installers not getting the openers. Other than that is all ready for tritoon, jetski, etc. Turned out great. Now if I can find time to boat on the lake. :nana

wow... that's going to be a heck of a setup when completed... what are the dimensions on your door for your pontoon boat?

Nice job, you are going love it. I didn't Tyvek, but should have. I'm gonna foam spray this fall. We love ours. Not only does it house the truck and camper (now) we use it for all the family events. I also have a 12x12 door on the back so I can drive through. Its just kinda weird not having a boat in there. I'll fill that hole again sometime. Now since working with Manitou went south, I think I may build one from scratch. For now, its kinda nice to have a break from boating. With the little time off I get from all the overtime I'm working at the plant, I am expanding the business and getting a lot of neglected stuff done that wouldn't be done during boating season. Gearing up for retirement, then that hole where the boats supposed to be will get filled.

I'm nearly done with my boathouse too, yours looks terrific.

My boat on the trailer with the bimini in the radar position is almost 9', so I opted for a door height of about 11'4" in case I bought a bigger or taller boat in the future.

I can HIGHLY recommend the Liftmaster 8500 side mount garage door openers if you're thinking about that or it's not too late. Those will preserve your door opening height throughout the whole building rather than having a standard opener hanging down where you could use the space to walk in your boat. Mine is nearly silent, powerful and has an automatic bolt that fires through the track when it's closed for more security.

All three doors are 10 x 12. Looking at putting power bimini on to make it even easier to boat. A couple of bridges are so low
have to put bimini fully down to go under. Would be nice to just push a button.

Tyvek is a requirement in our county. Builder said he doesn't understand. It is just something to make more money for suppliers.
Extra $150/roll and needed several rolls.

Nothing wrong with the Tyvek, will help keep some of the drafts and dust out. Why it's a county requirement though??? Hmm....

My current barn I could have saved myself a lot of work if I had had the erectors put on Tyvek. I ended up taping it into the inside each section between the posts before insulating and sheeting the shop inside.

Finally done. Went ahead and had three Liftmaster 8500 torsion bar openers installed. They are real nice and quiet.
Might have to go back to work to finish paying it off.

I saw that you concreted the floor. Great! Any way to get a center drain in there now? Wonderful for washing the boat & other toys,

No I can't put a drain in now, but I don't plan on washing boat or toys in the garage. Have a nice big gravel driveway for that. Since I'm 1 1/2 miles from the ramp, boat has a chance to dry before putting it away. County code also required a 2" drop per 10 feet, so have 4" drop each way from the center to the doors.

nice barn, i went pole barn on the first one also.

second shot i had I went stick built and gave myself a second floor. its sure nice having the boat inside when you have to work on it. I was a contractor for 20 years, my kids and i built them both. Nice to have free labor. when i want i can put the boat under the carports also. not a drive through but the doors are 12 foot wide so backing the boat in is pretty easy. 30x40 with a 14x40 full height second floor.

new one:
