Well, I'm guessing it was because I was running wot for a few laps around the lake pulling a tube....with all the turbulence this thing makes when running fast, I'm surprised it gets any water in it at all. Seems like the water goes all around the lower end.
But now that you mentioned it, there was a big gob of weeds attached to the lower end. I'm sure that didn't help. I think the engine has a temp sensor already in it and it's wired for a temperature gauge up to the dash. I'll have to look at the wiring diagrams again. Maybe add a temp gauge.
