I have a 300 Verado Pro and Simon told me they could only get it to 315 . Not worth the 900 bucks. May run a little cleaner / better fuel but again not for 900.
He told me the exact same thing about my Yammi F225 -- 15 extra ponies for 900 clams!! No way Hose-A.

Yeah, I could see where 15 or so hp wouldn't be worth the 900 bucks, BUT, since the Verado PRO family from the 200 to the 300 are all the same motor, and since you are controlling both fuel delivery AND air volume you can get big power gains. The biggest score is to buy the Verado 200 PRO and have the Simon or Whipple tune done on it. the gain is 140 HP. So, a 200 becomes ALMOST a 350. ( 340 )

A 200 Pro retails for $14,500... a 300 Pro is $18,500. An ECU tune on a 200 PRO is $15,400 for 340 hp.

From Whipple: STAGE 2
The Whipple stage 2 maximizes the power output of the stock engine by running 91 octane or better, increasing the maximum spark advance, maximum boost and maximized air-fuel ratio. Calibration increases torque levels throughout the entire rpm curve while making more peak hp for increased speeds.
Key features:
• Hi-performance PCM calibration
• 6900 RPM limit vs stock 6650 RPM
• 140HP gain/115 TRQ
• Increased acceleration with increased torque output

If you're buying a brand new boat, what would your power choice be??

I'm pretty excited to get this combo on the water.

I don't like slow pontoons but now you can get large engines on most of the tri-toons. When I need my speed fix I get in my Grand Sport Corvette.
