Anyone have an opinion on these?

Diameter or length?

What use? Small lake? Big Lake? Going to trailer it or slip it?

Size of motor?

Number of passengers on a usual basis?

I for one will need some more information before I can give an opinion.

If it's not for a tiny lake that doesn't get rough or busy I would think it would be useless. If you're looking to put around a pond with a few people it might be OK. All that matters is how you intend to use it.

Hi. I was looking at these pontoons that are 15-16 feet long by 7.5-8 feet wide. It would be for using Hernando bay Florida area, which is very popular for pontoons.
These small pontoons are powered by 25-70 hp motors. I was wondering how a smaller pontoon would handle vs a bigger one.

Mine is an 18 footer (21 LOA) and its to small for the large lake I'm usually on. It's a great boat but it bobs like a cork in rough water. I wouldn't buy a 15' unless you're talking about putting around or fishing on a very small lake. Also mines a tri-toon with a 115 so it is much larger and heavier than the 15 would be and it still is to small.

A 20' boat with full size toons is preferable on the smaller side of pontoonism. I often see those with 19" toons load up their pontoon boats with people, and they're riding deep in the water and plowing through it. That's not what you want.
20' boats with 25" toons a 75 hp would perform well and are seaworthy. Many people appreciate the horsepower and hull size when they get out on the lake and have to make a run for it with an approaching storm.
You can find 20' boats on the retail market used. You never see a 15 foot used--for a reason.

Thanks a bunch. That clears it up alot. Small is most likely not a good thing on a bay with 1-2 foot swells (or waves?). My 18 foot Hurricane was fine but probably heavier.
