Trolling motor question

#1 Post by KegNFool » Tue Jun 05, 2018 8:25 am

We have a 2005 Hurricane Deck boat. 22' with inboard Mercruiser. On the front there is an outlet for a trolling motor. What would be a good Trolling motor for this boat? Any suggestions? What about shaft length? Mounting location? Wiring? Is the boat wired for a 24v system? Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you!

I have a 22.5 tritoon. I use a Minn Kota Terrova 80 lb thrust with a shaft at 60”. You can measure the deck to your water line to get a good idea where you want your shaft to measure. This motor works well for me.

I'd second the ~80lb and 60" shaft

Has anybody used the Minn Kota Power Drive 48" ? I'm thinking 68lb for an 18ft.
