Rubber/vinyl mats for fishing.

#1 Post by Calveryc » Mon Jun 11, 2018 2:31 am

First time pontoon owner and first post so thanks for having me. My question is: Do y’all have any suggestions for what I can use for a floor mat to cover the carpet in the front section of my fishing barge 22dlx for when I fish? It’s carpeted and the carpet is a light color so I’m trying to avoid fish blood and catfish slime from covering it. I have been looking at some diamond plate rubber garage mats from Home Depot that I could cut to fit the trick is I want to be able to easily roll it up when the wife and friends are just out on a pleasure cruise. Thanks

I have vinyl flooring and do very little fishing but here are some ideas:

Pickup truck TAILGATE mat may be a decent size for what you are looking for:

You can also check out ebay (or anywhere) for Boat Floor Mats (a lot are similar to Sea Dek but at a reasonable price). A lot of these are designed to be cut to fit and glued down but you would obviously not want to glue it down.

You may even consider the rear seat pickup truck floor mat that has a lip but that would not be easy to roll up.
