Bartlett any one have any experience or have one

#1 Post by JoeA » Tue Aug 21, 2018 10:13 pm

Looking for Tritoon was leaning towards a Manitou looks like it is a nice build quality.
On Sunday there was a small boat show in town so we went and took a look.
Came across a Barletta which seems like a nice build with very nice interior.
But I hesitate since this is a new manufacture since January of this year.
Also the framing on the Manitou seems much more substantial vs the info I could find on the Barletta
Not sure how many have been sold and if they will make a dent in the market.
Last thing I want is a boat no one has herd of when its time to sell or a manufacture that has gone
out of business and can no longer support the product.
LOL maybe writing this out has answered my own questions.
Looking for input

Thank You

Joe.. I've never heard of Barletta... that doesn't mean they're a bad build... but I agree with you.. I would probabl steer clear of boat's I've never even heard of. Manitou makes a good boat, so does Bennington ( my favorite - full disclosure, I've got one ) and there are several quality boat manufacturers out there.. but no, never heard of Barletta.

I don't know anything about them but I think that new hot shot dealer on LBJ Texas is dealing them.

Assuming you mean Barletta, Pontoon and Deck Boat Magazine had a pretty nice review a few months ago.

No way to tell if they'll make it in the long run, but I'd be much less worried about having a Pontoon from a defunct brand than I would having a V hull from a company that disappeared. Pontoons are pretty simple beasts and most of the parts and pieces come from a third party anyway.

Thank you for the input.
Went and took another look at the Barletta and the Manitou.

My wife was saying to herself how am I going to get him to go with the Barletta.
Then we went took a second look at the Manitou and we now both agree the Manitou is the better
boat for us. Now to just find the model we want at the right price.

Is 20% off list to much to expect on a new boat ?

Thank u
Joe

Barletta is a new pontoon boat company. Recently, Winnebago purchased a relatively new RV company called Grand.Design. The founders of Grand Design walked.away fat, happy and with a pocket full of money ($805 million). They built Grand Design into a RV giant in just 5 years because they put out great products, they only deal with the best dealers and they are.customer service driven.

One of the exGrand Design owners formed Barletta. I believe that this brand is going to be run the same way as Grand Design. If you like the Barletta and the price is fair, go.for it.

Not at all. My boat SRP was right at $50k before taxes, etc. I paid $39.1k before taxes and was at $39.9 out the door. That also included about an extra grand of things I had them throw in (anchor, life jackets, ropes, fenders, etc).
