Painting toons

My pontoon is used in saltwater a few years ago I hade the toons done in anti fooling paint. Now I would like to paint my toons above the water line also but with just a regular paint. My thinking is it will be easier to clean and help in keeping the salt off the toons by being able to wash them down faster. Has anyone done this and if so what kind of paint did you use and did you spray it or roll it on? All help is welcomed. Thanks in advance

the prep would be the same as your bottom paint, the difference would be the top coat. I would research petit or one of the other marine paints, awlgrip is a good boat paint, what would need is an etching aluminum primer, then a compatible top cost polyurethane or epoxy, most can be rolled but that will be explained on the tech sheet for the product, that's why I would do a phoncon with petit and tell them what you want to do, then they can recommend the best product.
