PERSONAL EXPERIENCE??

#1 Post by wc9550 » Mon Jan 21, 2019 4:58 pm

Ok guys a little over a week ago, my wife and I went to the boat show (Chicago boat and RV show). Anyways, we were checking out all the new boats and happened to come across a deal that seemed pretty good to us. So here’s my question, does anyone here own a Starcraft SLS3? We put a deposit on a brand new 2018 24 foot long tri-toon with merc 200 on it. I’m wondering what your thoughts are on this boat? We are going to look at it in person this coming Saturday (1-26-19) since it was not present at the show. Thanks guys

Can't say about that boat but StarCraft is a very old company. They build a nice budget boat and mid-budget. I don't know about higher end ones. There is one at the boat barn next to me and looks like a well-built boat

I can only comment on the motor, I have Merc 200 Verado. Plenty of power on my 22 tri toon

Thanks guys. It seemed like a well built boat for the price. We are pretty excited about it. We will be getting the boat and tandem trailer for just under $50k. We go check it over and made the deal official this coming Saturday.

Figured I would update this thread. After going to look at the boat in person, we decided to let it go. We have changed our minds on the Starcraft and now looking at a Harris Sunliner 250. We are looking at tri-toon and the rear swing back seat. If we can make the deal with the dealer, we will start the build of our boat (it’s a 19’ and not built yet). Fingers crossed guys

The swing seat lounger is the reason I chose a Harris, that seat, the way it is done, is awesome facing backwards

Bansil: thanks man I’ll update the thread when the deal is done (or start a new thread lol).

Rip: yeah we had the deposit on the Starcraft and after going to see it in person, we looked at the Harris again and my wife really likes that layout (I do too actually). So we are now seeing what the dealer is willing to do on a Harris.
