wheel Dollys
Anyone used car tire Dollys for moving the pontoon/trailer?
I need to move it sideways.
Thanks,

Re: wheel Dollys
If it's what I'm thinking of they should work fine for that. The kind that has 4 caster wheels and picks up each tire? If so that's pretty much what the Dolly's are that most dealers have for moving boats in showroom. I've used 2 floor Jack's to shift mine right up to the wall in the garage.

ksks... don't think this is exactly what you're talking about, but I bought a dolly exactly like the one pictured below and I love it... If you're on concrete or asphalt or any fairly smooth surface, you can put your boat exactly where you want it... tight spaces no longer a problem. This is one of the best purchases I've made.

Re: wheel Dollys
Just saw some wheel dollys at harbor freight yesterday.....probably pretty cheap there. If its a single axil trailer it would be easy. A double might be a PITA

Re: wheel Dollys
Thanks guys.
It is a tandem axle, 21 foot boat.
Roland, that looks like a good way to move it a distance.
I'm looking to basically push it four feet to the side.
I was looking at something like this.

Its pretty heavy to push it from the tongue so ???

Those work great, make sure floor is fairly level and sweep first, downhills would suck

Re: wheel Dollys
ksks... those look like they would be good as far as moving the boat from side to side... but maybe I'm missing the point... how would you get your trailer tires up on to the dolly? also would you be putting the wheel from your trailer jack up on a dolly as well... the three wheel dolly pictured in my post above wouldn't be too much help for side to side movement, but it's wonderful if you're trying to maneuver your boat into a really tight space.ksks wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2019 7:42 amThanks guys.

Re: wheel Dollys
This is what I was in visioning when I first saw the topic. Similar to the others except they jack the tire up on their own.

Thought I'd use a bottle jack to lift the trailer.
LA, I like that dolly, a bit expensive.

Re: wheel Dollys
I totally agree with you on the price. I'd love to have a set but for the price I wouldn't use them enough. The ones you posted will work just the same!

I have this same dolly and love it. Tight fits = no problem. I use it for the toon, jet ski, utility trailer - easy peasy.

Re: wheel Dollys
Just got a flyer from Harbor Freight, the jack up style wheel dollys are on sail for 65 bucks each, still a lot of money though for four of them.
