Can you you use your subscription for your vehicle in your boat, without buying a separate subscription? And any recommendations for the radio to be used on the boat?
Re: Satelite r8
The subscription is tied to the Radio ID (Electronic Serial #) of the radio, so unless you can move your radio from your vehicle to your boat, the answer is no.
If you have a subscription that includes online access, you can connect your phone to your boats radio (aux input or Bluetooth), and listen via the SiriusXM app on your phone.

Could you provide a link or picture? Also, do these still require you to purchase a separate subscription?
Like the OP, I have XM in the truck and would love to take one of the portable home units (or similar) on the boat. But as I understand the ads/mailers I keep getting, I would be required to bundle or add to my service.

Like I said in my original post, each device requires a separate subscription. However, if you're paying more than $5 a month per device for the subscription, you're paying too much.

Use your phone if you have signal and listen to pandor free, some ads. Or most local station have free streaming if you have signal.
I use either wifes pandora with listen off line (monthy subscription) or my Spotify (monthy subscription )

I've been a satellite radio subscriber for years and have become increasing frustrated by all the "DJ talk" on many of the stations. I want to listen to music. Period. With that being said, I also have a paid Pandora subscription which is add free.
However, I've discovered another option...…. When I got my Tesla, it came with a free subscription to Slacker. The Tesla has a built-in, full time wifi connection (via AT&T) and the streaming music via Slacker has been great. They have many pre-programmed stations just like XM, but no DJ talk, no ads, etc. It's become my prime way of listening. I really like it more than satellite
