Well it’s official now guys. My wife and I took delivery of a brand new boat yesterday. We picked up a 2019 South Bay 224 SB2 3.0 with mercury 200 to replace our first boat. We are very happy and my kids are super excited. Hopefully the pics show up (not the best with computers lol). I’ll see if I can make something work tho for getting pics up. We are gonna be taking her out this coming weekend with friends of ours and couldn’t be happier. Stay safe out on the water this season.

Congratulations on your new boat!!! I love that sky blue color on the south bays. During our search for a new boat I saw that with the white and wanted it. The wife had other plans and we have a black and pewter boat !

Please share how it goes once you get her wet. Curious what trailer you have there as it looks very stout? Again glad to see you have a new ride it looks great!!!

Liquid Asset: it’s a marine master trailer and and it’s supposed to have a 7k GVW (boat is only 2215 before engine I believe).

BUT...if that is the only way the rear of boat is tied down, take it back to dealer tell them to fix it.

A strap with tension will get sliced with the tranducer mounts just from road vibration, it would be a pity to lose her

Bansil you make a great point, I never even noticed/thought of that. How could I go about avoiding the cutting of those straps otherwise? Thanks again guys, she’s going in the water this weekend. I’ll update this thread after she gets wet

Very nice. Love the colors. We have had two South Bays and they were good boats. Like the interior layout with swing back style back. Ought to run well with 200.

Hard to tell, can you go thru the mounts?it kind of looks like radiused cutouts with a protective edging from pictures.
Maybe a few moar pictures of back and side?

Bansil I think I can go through the mounts (not near the boat at the moment to confirm). The dealer said it’s a 10 hour break in period and they want it run in all RPM ranges. So I’m thinking it’ll be 10 hours of different speeds. Then I can stand on it and run. Once she’s broken in, I’m gonna run it down to about 1/8 tank of fuel and make a speed pass by myself lol.
