Sun Tracker VS Lowe, Sun Catcher, Crest, Etc?

#1 Post by SoCalAngler » Fri May 17, 2019 5:36 pm

Looking to purchase another toon. Prefer used but may go new. Budget for new is $30K + T, L, Freight.
20'-21' with a 90hp 4 stroke

2019 Sun Tracker 20DLX is priced at $28,635 + Fees

2019 Lowe SF 214 is priced at $33,700 + Fees

Haven't checked others, but they be more.

What are differences in quality / workmanship between Sun Tracker and others?

Seems to me that they all use marine ply floors, marine UV vinyl on furniture, alum. toons 24"-25", similar fencing and railing, etc.
Am I missing something as to why ALL other manufacturers are MORE than Sun Tracker by several thousands of dollars?

Thanks!

Sun Tracker (Bass Pro Shops brand) operates on a fixed price model (very little or no negotiation). Most other brands have a relatively high "sticker price" which can be negotiated quite a bit. For example, the sticker price for my boat when I bought it new was about $50k plus taxes, fees, etc. I paid $39k out the door including all taxes, fees, etc.
